Carmen Veliz is an artist from Valparaiso in Chile whose roots and wide travels have had a great influence on her work.
Carmen has studied in America and the UK. She has settled in England and now lives in Bristol. With a BA in Fine Arts, her work has been seen in galleries from Cheshire to Taunton and her exhibitions from the West Country to London.
Carmen’s work has a personal and social involvement with death, isolation, exile and the pain of parting at the same time as conveying hope, resurgence and growth.
“As a painter I’m interested in using colour, shape and design to convey ideas, feelings and experiences. Most of my work is rooted in life experiences. Travel has played an important part in the combinations of colour that I use.” says Carmen.
